![]() Note on Photo: A Peruvian sheepherder is carrying an injured sheep in Wyoming, USA. Many Latin Americans immigrate to the USA to work as sheepherders. While the pay is good compared to home, it can be hard and lonesome work. They live alone in the wilderness with the sheep for 9 months of the year. Every tenth day they get supplies from the ranch, if the roads are navigable, and in the winter they can be cut of from civilization for weeks. They survive by melting snow for themselves and their horses. – “Sheepherder” by Kristoffer Hellman - National Geographic Photo Contest Winner, 2014 Scripture readings: 1 John 3:16-24 John 10:11-18
