Participant Led Adult Faith Development: |
Inward/Outward Group Spiritual DevelopmentA small group dedicated to intentional spiritual accompaniment, facilitated by Pastor Delle. More traditional settings of Christian spiritual direction are exclusively Christ-centered, and involve a relationship between director and directed that is unilateral: one comes seeking answers or direction concerning life’s big issues, and the other has all the answers, or at least pretends to. But spiritual direction, like other religious practices, has evolved to include ever-widening circles of peoples and practices.
Pastor Delle’s training at the Tucson Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction was geared more toward people from all walks of life and all religious traditions, who seek the guidance of the Spirit - God, Jesus, Higher Power, Cosmic Consciousness, etc - in individual and group settings. Such guidance is not “top down” but rather attends to Spirit in the many forms it takes through silence, study, and conversation in relationship with God, self and others. The name of the group, “Inward/Outward” connotes both contemplative and interactive spiritual practices as well as the discernment of the individual’s and community’s “divine purpose” or “C/call.” In addition to the scheduled group gatherings, Inward/Outward members who wish to do so can schedule one private spiritual accompaniment session with Pastor Delle each month. The group is free to Rincon members and for non-members, a love-offering of $20 per group session and $50 for individual sessions is suggested. The group normally meets on the 2nd Sunday of each month in sanctuary room 12, 5-6:30pm. Occasionally the date, location, and time may change to accommodate Pastor Delle's schedule. Please check our calendar page to view the current information. All are welcome who come with open hearts and minds, and are willing to build a community of deep listening and trust.
